The club was formed in 1988 and embarked on fundraising to add such necessities as curtains, a table light and heating to the club room.Â
There was substantial interest in the game with 40 members being recruited in the first year.
The club holds handicap knockout competitions in the winter each year for both snooker and billiards. All members are eligible (and encouraged) to take part. The handicap scheme means that every contestant has a chance to win each trophy, as results over the years demonstrate.
The club also holds 3 or 4 social snooker events during the year. These are evenings where a large number of games of a few minutes each are played, testing our technical skills in ways that the more usual game does not.
The annual general meeting is held in March each year. All members are encouraged to attend.
